Why we built this

The internet produces more long-form video content every day than any person could watch in a lifetime. Podcasts run three hours. Conference keynotes go ninety minutes. Educational lectures stretch across entire semesters. Most of that content contains genuinely valuable ideas buried inside hours of watching time most people don't have.

Y2Sum Studio was built to fix that. Paste a link, get the substance. We use AI to read the full transcript, extract the core ideas, and surface them in a format you can actually use in under fifteen seconds.

How it works

When you submit a YouTube URL, Y2Sum Studio fetches the video's transcript (the same captions you'd see on YouTube), passes it to a large language model, and receives back a structured summary: an overview paragraph, bullet-point takeaways, and timestamped section markers. Popular videos are cached so subsequent users get results instantly.

Summaries are generated in the language you choose: English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Arabic, Hindi, and Italian, even when the source video is in a different language.

Beyond on-demand summaries, Y2Sum Studio maintains a curated feed of pre-summarized videos across AI & technology, science, health, and culture, sourced from channels worth following. New content is added nightly. The feed grows organically as more videos are summarized by users.
